Solar PV systems for the Developing World

In this intensive 1-day workshop you will learn to design and build stand alone solar pv systems to provide electricity in areas that don't have electricity.  The class is 30% talk, 70% building solar electric systems. Our solar pv systems have proven themselves in over 12 countries providing electricity for clinics, schools, community centers and orphanages.  They can also provide power for businesses, and homes. This class is perfect for anyone who travels to serve others where there is no reliable clean power.

This is the class we love to teach the most. The largest impact youcan make is to bring the power of renewable energy to people who need power the most. The small systems you will build in class have the power to provide lights, communications, fans, radio, computers, cell phone charging and much more. the systems you build are modular and more solar can be added without changing the basic design or rewiring the whole syatem

We will organize a class for your group or community.

PV 200 for Electricians, Contractors, and Designers: Ongoing schedule

This is a five day intensive course designed for electricians and contractors who want to design and/or install solar electric systems.  Others who are thinking of entering this field are also welcome but relevant background knowledge is valuable.  In this class participants will learn to size and design solar electric systems.  They will also gain hands-on practice installing and wiring up solar electric systems:  from taking Voc and Isc measurements, to racking modules on a roof, to wiring up the whole Balance of Systems up to making the connection to the AC Main panel.  Students will also learn to use the tools needed to make an accurate assessment of sites for solar. Contact us to learn about the next class to be offered.

Solar for the Developing World: Medical Clinics

This class is intended for those who work in parts of the world where there is no electricity, or where electricity is unreliable.  In 2008, Hal Aronson co-founded WECARE Solar with Dr. Laura Stachel to bring light, electricity, and blood bank refrigeration to health care facilities that serve childbearing mothers.  Mike Srykowski joined the WECARE Solar team in 2009.  Together they design solar electric systems for rural clinics, operating rooms, maternity wards, and schools.  In this class we will not only share what we learned...but we will teach YOU how to do it.  You will learn how to size and design systems that meet electrical needs, are durable, and safe.

Focused Topics in Solar Electricity

We also offer a variety of course that are more narrowly focused including a solar installation class, a solar design class, a solar water pumping class, a solar for city officials including building inspectors class, and more.  If your group, business,or agency wants a focused presentation or training, contact us and we will create a class to meet your specifications.
